The Independent Hearing Officer
Hearing Officers must be independent fact finders. Hearing Officers should not be employed by the issuing agency where they may feel pressured to uphold citations.
The Hearing Officer must provide an independent, objective, fair, and impartial review of contested parking violations.
The Hearing Officer carefully evaluates the testimony and evidence provided. The Hearing Officer may also ask questions to clarify the appellant's testimony. The Hearing Officer then makes an objective legal decision based on the testimony and evidence provided.
